New England Aquarium Whale Watch
Ride Boston's only 3-hour Whale Watch*
Boston Harbor Cruises' high-speed catamarans are the fastest, most comfortable way to view the ocean’s most fascinating and magnificent creatures. Getting you to and from the whales in less time means you to spend more time actually watching them. Want to see where we keep the really big animals? Check out our Photo Gallery.
Our destination is Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary, a rich feeding ground for whales, dolphins, sea birds and other marine life.
This area is home to several kinds of large whales, including humpback whales, finback whales, minke whales, as well as pilot whales and the critically endangered right whales. White-sided dolphins may also put in an appearance. View recent sightings.
Our catamarans feature 3 outside decks for optimum viewing. Inside you’ll find climate-controlled cabin space with cushioned seating, tables, state-of-the-art sound and video systems, a New England Aquarium Education Station, and a galley offering food and beverages for purchase.
In addition to providing great whale watching, our catamarans also come equipped with naturalists trained by the New England Aquarium. They’ll share their knowledge about the behavior, conservation status and migration patterns of whales, dolphins and sea birds. You'll learn how to identify different species, how scientists keep track of individual animals, and more.
* the location of the whales on Stellwagen Bank may require more travel time, extending the trip beyond the scheduled three hours. Please allow for additional time in your schedule.
