Commuters

"Wave" good-bye to traffic. Ride the MBTA Commuter Boats, operated by Boston Harbor Cruises.

When most people think of public transportation, buses, trains and trolleys come to mind. However, our commuters know that cruising along on a BHC commuter boat is the most enjoyable way to get where you're going. So sit back, relax, have coffee, read a newspaper and take the stress out of your morning commute.

BHC provides several of the MBTA commuter boats that carry thousands each day and help alleviate Boston's stop-and-go Expressway traffic. BHC has operated the Charlestown Navy Yard ferry service since 1986, and provides the area's fastest water commute aboard the Hingham Commuter Service with our hi-speed catamarans servicing the South Shore.

If you're considering becoming a commuter by sea, take a look at photos of our fleet (including our convenient concession areas) and take a virtual tour of our hi-speed catamarans .

To purchase monthly boat passes for our commuter ferries please visit the MBTA secure site.
