Commuter Services

When most people think of public transportation, buses, trains and trolleys come to mind. However, a growing number of commuters are discovering that cruising along on a BHC commuter boat is the most enjoyable way to get where you're going. Our passengers can sit back, relax, have coffee, read a newspaper, and take the stress out of their morning commute.

We provide several of the MBTA commuter boats that carry thousands each day and help alleviate Boston's stop-and-go Expressway traffic. BHC has operated the Charlestown ferry service since 1986, and provided the area's fastest water commute when it began the Hingham to Boston aboard a high-speed catamaran.

To purchase monthly boat passes for our commuter ferries please visit the MBTA secure site.

If you're considering becoming a commuter by sea, take a look at interior photos of our boats (including our convenient concession areas) and take a virtual tour of our catamarans.
