Specialty Cruises: USS Constitution Turn Around Cruise
Fourth of July Celebration
Whether you're visiting Beantown or are a tried-and-true Bostonian, watching the
USS Constitution set sail is a sight to behold. Join us as we tag along with the USS
Constitution on her annual sail. And what better day to celebrate the world's oldest
active warship than on July 4th!.
This is a narrated tour of Boston's inner harbor focusing on the annual turning of
the USS Constitution. This historic turn happens for two reasons, so that her sides are
weathered evenly while she is at dock and, most importantly, to keep her active commission
in the US Navy she must travel one nautical mile each year. She travels to Castle Island in
South Boston, where she fires a 21 gun salute before returning to her berth in Charlestown.
The Constitution only makes the trip once a year -- don't miss this boat!
