After a brief break in the action due to the rough weather we departed for the northwest corner of Stellwagen once again. There were many clusters of feeding great shearwaters in contrast with the typical fall sighting of northern gannets. Once on the bank we spotted one blow which was quickly matched by another and we came to a pair of humpbacks. The two made fairly random movements while traveling rather slowly. After some time we could see that they were gradually making their way to the northeast. A harbor seal grabbed our attention and delighted us all as s/he seemed curious of the large white boat. Eventually we had to turn toward home and made our way back to Boston in the golden hour of the afternoon light.
